April 2, 2023Title of the Work : Game Changer Caption of the Work : When Ritu Saini tells her story, she does not show any anger. She is completely at peace with the pain that life has inflicted on her. She grows excited when she talks about her days as a basketball player in Haryana, the state she once represented. But an acid attack on her cousin, whom she rejected, cut short a budding career & ended her dreams of playing for the country. But shortly Ritu regains confidence to lead a normal respectful life with dreams of playing basketball for her state. Picture clicks at ‘Sheroes Hangout’ Café in Agra, India.
The 3rd TRUST Photo Competition Award Ceremony took place on March 31st at the Third International Conference SPORT4IMPACT in Milan.
We were delighted to receive 79 entries from 19 countries across the world.
The judging panel included:
- Stephen McCarthy, double World Press Photo award-winning photographer and filmmaker at Sportsfile Dublin
- MTU team – UNESCO Chair team & Department of Sport, Leisure, and Childhood Studies
- Olga Maryntseva – Petro Mohyla Black Sea University in Mikolaiv, Ukraine
- Daithi Kerin – GameOn Golf

“Girls when deprived and are limited to venture what sports they truly love, their ingenuity comes in. In this picture, two rural girls created their own football ball ingeniously using available materials like paper, cellophane and rubber bands. Women can play whatever their mind and heart puts them into.”
